Welcome to the first WGFC Weekly Round-up blog. It's been great to see football start up again in some areas over the weekend. Of course, this has not happened across the entire country either because of Tier 3 restrictions or because some leagues have delayed the restart until next weekend. However, plenty of games were played and here at WGFC we have pulled together the results across tiers 5 & 6 along with links to any match reports, blogs or photos that we can find. If you know of more then please let us know and we will include make the appropriate edits.
North West
In the Premier League there was a mid-table stalemate as Cheadle Town Stingers and Mossley Hill Athletic shared four goals but the big game of the day was in Birkenhead where fourth placed Tranmere took on unbeaten third placed side FC United. Rovers leapfrogged their opponents, Morecambe and Crewe with a resounding 6-0 victory that puts them top of the pile.
Division 1 North leaders Darwen extended their 100% record by thrashing Workington Reds 9-0 at home whilst Penwortham Town secured second spot after edging past Penrith with a 2-1 scoreline. In the South, Salford City gained ground on leaders Chester by beating winless West Kirby 4-0.

Abingdon United took over top spot after a good 1-0 win at Winchester Flyers. Bottom side Newbury are still pointless after losing 2-1 at home to Ascot United.
In the South leaders Southampton Women showed no mercy as they put bottom side Tilehurst Panthers to the sword on their own ground with a 9-1 victory. Second placed Eastleigh kept up the pressure with a resounding 7-0 win at Abbey Rangers
