It's A Sunday Thing (Dec 5)

Caversham United
The Goats are back in league action this weekend as they go in search for only their second league win of the season. They make the short journey to Sonning where they will face up to the intriguingly names Woodley Saints Hobnob. I presume a reference to the Reading FC fan-zone site which, in turn, references the Huntley & Palmers biscuit factory that was originally based in the town. Saints are one place and two points worse off than Caversham, although they did manage their first win of the season last time out, a 2-1 win at GC United. The Goats, probably still smarting from last week's 8-1 home reversal at the hands of Westwood Wanderers, will be looking to get themselves back to winning ways.
Sunday 5th December, Kick-off 10:30am. Berkshire County Sports Club, RG4 6ST

Caversham United Women
Caversham United Women will be looking to make it three on the bounce, following up on last Sunday's 4-2 league win at Wargrave and the Berks/Bucks Cup defeat of Holyport two weeks ago. They will need to overcome Division 3 North side Wycombe Wanderers Reserves if the wish to progress past the Second Round of the League Cup. Wanderers put out Eversley & California Reserves in the 1st Round, winning 3-1 in Hampshire. They are currently third in their league and were on a run of three unbeaten in all competitions until they went down 3-0 to Milton Keynes City last weekend.
Sunday 5th December, Kick-off 2pm. Mapledurham Playing Fields, RG4 8LD

A note for any potential groundhoppers. These two grounds are less than 6 miles apart. You could easily do both with a stop for lunch in between. I know you would be made very welcome at both games.

Jovial Monk
No game for Monk this Sunday, so look out for them down at the Outlet Centre snapping up all of the pre-Christmas bargains (or down the pub, of course).
